Dynamo midfielder Rob Lovejoy was named to the USL Team of the Week on Tuesday for Week Seven after scoring two goals in Rio Grande Valley FC’s 3-2 win over San Antonio FC on Saturday.

Lovejoy joined RGV FC on loan for Saturday’s debut in the new Texas rivalry and came off the bench midway through the second half for his Toros debut. The winger opened the scoring with a well-taken effort in the 70th minute, and then tallied the game-winner in second-half stoppage time, intercepting a pass in midfield finishing with his unnatural right foot from 22 yards for decisive goal.

Mauro Manotas, another Dynamo player on loan with RGV FC, also scored his first Toros goal in the road victory.

The Dynamo and RGV FC have a hybrid affiliation, with the Dynamo in control of all technical aspects of the soccer operation, including the construction of the roster and the coaching staff. Meanwhile, the McAllen, Texas based Rio Grande Valley Vipers run the business operations, including the current construction of a 9,400 seat soccer stadium that will resemble Houston’s BBVA Compass Stadium.
