RGV FC hosts Arizona United seeking fourth straight home win

The Rio Grande Valley FC Toros (6-4-4; 22 points) open a two-game homestand tonight against Arizona United SC (4-5-3; 15 points), with kickoff set for 7:30 p.m. CDT at the UT RGV Soccer Complex. The match will be streamed live above and here.

RGV FC will try to respond to a loss with a win for the fourth time in as many opportunities tonight after a 3-2 setback at Sacramento Republic FC on Saturday. The Toros are 3-0 following a loss this season.

Dynamo Academy alumnus Memo Rodriguez scored his team-leading fourth goal of the season and Eric Bird scored for the second consecutive game as the Toros overcame two deficits only to concede the game-winning goal in the 87th minute. Dynamo Academy product Christian Lucatero made his first start of the season and set up Rodriguez’s goal for his third assist of the season.

Tonight is the first meeting between RGV FC and Arizona United SC, which is led by Frank Yallop, who won over 100 MLS games with the San Jose Earthquakes, LA Galaxy and Chicago Fire.

United has won two straight games following a 2-1 home victory over Saint Louis FC on Saturday.

The Toros are 3-0-1 in their last four home games and will host Orange County Blues FC on Sunday.
