Houston Dynamo defender Sebastien Ibeagha has joined Rayo OKC of the North American Soccer League (NASL) on loan, the clubs announced today. The loan may last for the remainder of the NASL’s Fall season, although the Dynamo have the option to recall Ibeagha at any point this season.

Ibeagha is a Dynamo Academy alumnus and signed with the Dynamo first team on January 26 after two years in Denmark and Iceland. The 24-year-old made his first Dynamo appearance on May 24, playing 90 minutes in the BBVA Compass Dynamo Charities Cup victory over Real Sociedad. The central defender has made six appearances on loan to Houston’s USL hybrid affiliate, the Rio Grande Valley FC Toros.

Rayo OKC is tied for second place in the NASL’s Fall season, with four points from two games. Next up, they host Puerto Rico FC on Wednesday at Miller Stadium.

Born in Nigeria, Ibeagha moved to Houston at age 16 and joined the Dynamo Academy. After a decorated career at Duke University he joined AC Horsens in Denmark in January 2014 and spent parts of the last two seasons on loan with FC Fredericia (Denmark) and Fram Reykjavik (Iceland).
