For the second consecutive year, the Houston Dynamo and Kroger have teamed up to recognize outstanding educators in the Houston area through the Classroom Champs nomination program, the two organizations announced today.

Dynamo fans are encouraged to nominate teachers, principals and other educators online at HoustonDynamo.com/ClassroomChamps. Nominees may work with any level of students, from kindergarten through 12th grade, and may work at either public or private schools. The only requirement is that they make a positive difference in the lives of their students and the people around them.

“We're excited to host the second annual Classroom Champs program to provide the opportunity for our city’s most-deserving educators to be recognized for the work they do in and out of the classroom to support our next generation of leaders,” says Kristal Howard, public relations manager for Kroger. “Every one of us can recall a childhood teacher or principal that played an influential role in our lives.”

A committee of Kroger and Dynamo Charities representatives will select five Classroom Champs. Four finalists will be honored with a special media event at Kroger, game tickets and on-field recognition at a Dynamo game, a $250 gift card from Kroger and a $250 grant for their school from Dynamo Charities and Kroger.

The Classroom Champ grand prize winner will receive a once-in-a-lifetime four minute shopping spree at Kroger with a Dynamo player, along with a pep rally at their school with a Dynamo player, game tickets, a $500 grant for their school and other prizes.
