The Houston Dynamo unveiled their new home kit in front of nearly 1,000 fans Thursday evening at the popular EaDo concert venue Warehouse Live. After the unveiling, players mingled with fans, signing autographs and posing for pictures in front of several Dynamo-themed visual elements.
Space City Blue returns to the home kit for the first time since 2010, with blue horizontal pinstripes accenting the club’s traditional orange shirt. The rest of the kit features white shorts with Space City Blue accent stripes, leaving behind the traditional orange stripes, and orange socks with Space City Blue pinstripes to match the jersey.
The club motto, “FOREVER ORANGE,” is on the back of the jersey beneath the collar, and the front of the jersey bears the club crest with two silver stars representing the club’s back-to-back MLS Cup wins in 2006 and 2007. The BHP Billiton logo proudly displayed in the middle of the jersey, showcasing the strong relationship between the company and the Dynamo. The Texas flag remains a core element of the Dynamo jersey and is stitched onto the jersey just above the hemline.
The new jersey will be available at the adidas Dynamo Team Store at BBVA Compass Stadium on Friday and Saturday from 12 – 4 p.m. CST. It is also available online at MLSstore.com.
The Dynamo open the 2017 season, presented by 76, on Saturday, March 4 at 7:30 p.m. CST against the defending MLS Cup Champion Seattle Sounders FC at BBVA Compass Stadium. The full season schedule was announced on Thursday, January 12.
