The Rio Grande Valley FC Toros could not keep the winning streak going and lost 1-0 to Tulsa Roughnecks FC. Jaime Ayala’s lone goal was enough to give the away team the win.

The Toros were on the hunt for the goal early on the match. In the 21st minute Eric Bird found a cross but his volley barely went wide left. Bird kept finding opportunities and had another shot in the 32nd but Tulsa’s Fabian Cerda saved his shot.

Rio Grande Valleys Borja Angoitia also had a quick reaction save in the 35th minute to keep the Toros clean sheet. Christian Lucatero had a chance to put the Toros ahead a minute later. José Escalante's cross found Lucatero open but he could not put the correct aim on the header.

Tulsa found their winning goal early in the second half. Jaime Ayala found some space and shot a rocket to the upper right corner. The Toros fought hard and kept trying to find a goal to pull both teams even.  Jose Escalante had a free kick that hit the crossbar in the 67th minute.

After RGV's Kyle Murphy could not find a shot inside the box, the ball found Eric Bird who shot the ball over the crossbar. Joaquin Rivas almost doubled the Roughnecks FC lead but Toros’ goalkeeper Borja Angoitia made the save.

After the match against Tulsa, the Toros will remain at home. Their next opponent will be OKC Energy FC on Saturday, April 29.
