Tickets for tonight’s Houston Dynamo home match against FC Dallas presented by 76® are sold out, the club announced this afternoon.
Official capacity for BBVA Compass Stadium is 22,039, and the last of the available ticket inventory was sold earlier this afternoon. Tonight’s match is the second leg of the 2017 Texas Derby, the annual rivalry series between the two clubs. They played to a 0-0 draw in the first leg on May 28 in Frisco, and the third and final leg will be played in Frisco on Wednesday, August 23.
The winner of the season series each year claims possession of El Capitán, a Texas Revolutionary War-era cannon. El Capitán currently resides at BBVA Compass Stadium after the Dynamo won the 2016 series, and a win tonight would put Houston in good standing to maintain possession for another year.
Tonight promises to produce fireworks before, during and after the game. Houston rap legend Bun B will perform a pregame concert in the Bud Light Beer Garden to set the mood ahead of the game and get Dynamo fans fired up to #BeatDallas. On the field, the two teams are tied for second in the MLS Western Conference with 24 points each, and a win could vault either team to the top of the conference table. After the final whistle, fans are encouraged to stick around for Postgame Fireworks presented by Kroger, an annual tradition at select summertime Dynamo home games.
Following tonight’s match, the Dynamo’s next regular-season home match will be on Wednesday, July 5 against the Montreal Impact for the club’s annual Honoring Our Heroes night, at which the Dynamo will celebrate and recognize active duty and retired military members, police officers, firefighters and first responders. The Dynamo will also pay tribute to the career of Dynamo Legend Brad Davis, who announced his retirement earlier this year.
Tickets for the Dynamo vs. Montreal game start at just $25. That evening will feature another edition of Postgame Fireworks presented by Kroger, along with a number of Red, White and Blue-themed events throughout the evening to make it a perfect way to cap off the Independence Day weekend. Fans may also donate tickets to military members on their behalf as a way to say “Thank you” to those who serve our community at home and abroad.
