The Houston Dash came from behind to clinch their third victory on the road this season with goals from Rachel Daly and Nichelle Prince. With the victory Houston improved its record in Kansas City to 2-0-2.

FCKC forward Shea Groom scored her first goal of the season seconds into first half stoppage time. Christina Gibbons floated a ball into the box that found Groom outside the six yard box, the forward created space for a shot that beat Dash goalkeeper Jane Campbell at the far post.

Houston equalized in the 56th minute after a cross from forward Carli Lloyd found Daly making a run into the box. Barnhart saved Daly’s initial shot but the forward capitalized on the rebound for her third goal of the season.

Prince scored her second goal of the season in the 64th minute after she got on the end of midfielder Amber Brooks’ free kick. The play originated after the Dash won a free kick near midfield for a foul on midfielder Andressinha by Kansas City midfielder Lo’eau LaBonta. The midfielder was ejected as that was her second yellow card of the game.

Poliana generated Houston’s first dangerous opportunity of the game in the fifth minute when she created space for Andressinha to cross a ball into the box. FCKC captain Becky Sauerbrunn cleared the ball before Prince could make contact inside the box.

FCKC goalkeeper Nicole Barnhart was called into action in the eight minute after Daly controlled a ball from Lloyd near midfield. Daly found forward Janine Beckie unmarked outside the box but her shot was handled by Barnhart at the near post.

Beckie and Daly combined again in the 22nd minute when the Canadian international found Daly at the edge of the box, but her shot was saved by Barnhart at the bottom corner of the far post.

Prince edged out Gibbons in the 26th minute to create space inside the box, but her shot went over the crossbar.
