DaMarcus Beasley | Postgame vs. Portland Timbers

(on tonight’s game) “A good point against a tough team, and we keep going.”

(on being selected to his fifth MLS All-Star Game) “It’s going to be fun playing against Real Madrid. You get to play with some of the best players in MLS so it’ll be fun. You don’t really get any time to rest, you play tonight on Wednesday and again on the weekend. It’s not the best ideal situation but it is what it is.”

(on the Dynamo’s 2016 season versus their 2017 season) “I don’t look at the past. I don’t even know what our record was, because it doesn’t matter. We worry about the future. We worry about the players in this locker room. We don’t worry about anything that happened last year, two years ago or whatever. That doesn’t bother us; we’re in an okay position. We’ve got to go to Salt Lake next week and try to get points and try to get a win on the road. Right now, it’s all about points and getting momentum.”

(on the play of Memo Rodriguez) “I’ve seen Memo for a while. We’ve had our talks and he’s a really good player and talent. I’m glad we have him. He’s a humble kid and I hope you guys give him the time to play. That’s what it’s all about. We don’t need anybody telling him how good he is; he’s just starting. It’s about him working hard which he has been doing and that’s why he is on the field. That’s why he is one of the first subs off the bench and why he’s starting. Because he is a good player.”
