The U.S. Women’s National Team scored three goals in the final nine minutes to defeat Brazil 4-3 in San Diego and secure their first victory in the Tournament of Nations.

Andressinha scored the fastest goal of the tournament after her strike from outside the box beat Allysa Naeher in the second minute, despite the goalkeeper getting two hands on the ball at the goal line. Bruna Benites scored her sixth international goal off a set piece in the second half. Andressinha gave Brazil a 3-1 lead in the 79th minute after her free kick from the edge of the box beat the Chicago Red Stars goalkeeper at the near post.  Dash captain Carli Lloyd played 90 minutes in her first start of the tournament.

Lydia Williams and Australia remain undefeated in the tournament after a 4-2 victory over Japan in the first game of the evening. Williams did not participate in the contest after she tallied a shutout in Australia’s first game of the tournament, a 1-0 victory over the U.S. Women’s National Team.
