The Houston Dash split a cross-country road trip after they fell 2-0 to Portland Thorns FC this evening at Providence Park.

Former Dash defender Megan Klingenberg found Lindsey Horan inside the box in the 14th minute for the first goal of the game. Horan’s header beat Jane Campbell for her fourth goal of the season.

Nadia Nadim came on after halftime for Portland and found Amandine Henry at the near post three minutes into the second half. The midfielder’s header beat the keeper for the second goal of the game.

Janine Beckie forced a save with a long-range shot that was tipped over the crossbar a minute after Portland’s first goal.

Poliana almost equalized for Houston in the 34th minute after captain Amber Brooks found the defender inside the box. The Brazilian’s header beat Thorns goalkeeper Adrianna Franch at the far post but the defender was called offside.

Rachel Daly received the team's second ejection of the season in the 80th minute after she shoved Thorns defender Emily Sonnet during a set piece. Both Dash player ejections came against Portland and with Christina Unkel as the official.

Campbell was tested seconds prior to the final whistle with a long-range shot from Mallory Weber that the keeper handled at the far post. The rookie finished the game with four saves.
