The Houston Dash return to BBVA Compass Stadium for the first time since Hurricane Harvey dropped more than 50 inches of rain on the Bayou City to host Christen Press, Julie Ertz and the Chicago Red Stars on Fan Appreciation Night, presented by BBVA Compass, in their third meeting of the regular season.

Goalkeeper Jane Campbell, defender Bruna Benites and midfielder Andressinha return from international play and look to build on the club’s most successful season to date. The Dash have won seven games this season, the most in franchise history and they claimed their first victory of the year against the Red Stars in the season opening fixture with goals from forwards Rachel Daly and Kealia Ohai. With a draw or a victory Houston could match or surpass the club record for total number of points earned in season with 24. Additionally, it would extend Houston’s current two-game winning streak at BBVA Compass Stadium against Chicago that began in 2016 with a 3-1 victory to open the season.

The Red Stars look to secure a playoff spot as they travel to Texas for the second time this season. Christen Press has scored 10 of the Red Stars’ 29 goals this season and is one of six Chicago players returning from the two-game series between the U.S. Women’s National Team and New Zealand. Press joined Morgan Brian, Julie Ertz, Sofia Huerta, Casey Short and Alyssa Naeher in Denver and Cincinnati. Ertz finished the first game with a Brace and Huerta made her USWNT debut after FIFA approved a change of national association. The midfielder entered the game as a substitute and provided an assist in the final goal of the game.

Houston returns to NWSL action on Wednesday. Sept. 27 as they host the North Carolina Courage at 7 p.m. at H-E-B Park in Edinburg, Texas. Houston will finish the 2017 regular season at Kansas City as they take on FCKC at 5 p.m. in Swope Soccer Village.
