Tyler Deric | Postgame at New York City FC

On the importance of needing a win…

“We were talking all week about changing our mentality, but it really matters coming out here and putting it all on the field and I think we did that. It’s a tough opponent, but we came out and worked hard and we’re going to have to keep up that consistency if we want to make the playoffs.”

On responding to the NYCFC goal…

“This team is all about when we get knocked down, we get straight back up and we’re reading to fight.”

On what was seen on the goal…

“I think the cross deflection was tough to read. I was playing across and I think I got in a bad position, but as a whole the team picks each other up and we move on and that’s what we did.”

On getting into a rhythm at the end of the game…

“I felt like with Wilmer putting a lot of confidence in me the past couple weeks, it really boosts my confidence. I enjoy trying to contribute in any way I can.”
