Wilmer Cabrera | Postgame at New York City FC

On Eric Alexander coming back…

“We were waiting for a very long time and were trying to play him, but we had to wait. But we were fortunate to have him go in and we’re sad because we lost Oscar. But he got in there and played some minutes and it is important for his confidence. It’s important for the team to get everyone in good shape.”

On conceding a goal and regaining momentum…

“Well, we knew they were going to be dangerous and could be dangerous in the first minute. So what I told the guys is that they are going to be dangerous but we cannot change our mentality to be organized, and when we have the ball to have quality and talent to break them. And it was good, it was good. Then we tied and we created options, it was back and forth and fun to watch, but you know, I think we had the clearest chances to score and we couldn’t get one of those to get three points, but we keep pushing.

On Tyler Deric’s performance and big saves…

“Yes, it’s important he’s showing confidence, he’s showing his ability to keep us in the game. It was a good level of goalkeeping because on the other side Sean Johnson makes one good save after another and today was just a playoff kind of game.”

Reporter: Lastly, just how important is it with a game coming up on Wednesday to bounce back quickly, to recover and get back to work right away?

HOU Coach: Yes, the way we recover today, the way we start our recovery for Wednesday will be critical and key for us because that game is really important
