The Houston Dash were held scoreless as they fell 4-0 to the North Carolina Courage at H-E-B Park this evening.

The Courage scored the first goal of the game off a fast restart after a foul near midfield in the 13th minute. Sam Mewis charged to the edge of the box and her effort beat Jane Campbell at the far post.

Courage forward Lynn Williams doubled North Carolina’s lead in the 38th minute after she cut back at the edge of the box to beat two defenders. The forward dribbled toward the six-yard box and beat the Dash goalkeeper at the far post for her seventh goal of the season.
Williams deflected a cross from Mewis in the 51st minute that found midfielder Debinha near the penalty spot for the third goal of the game.
The Brazilian added an assist five minutes later after she chipped the ball into the box for Ashley Hatch, who beat Campbell for the final goal of the game.

Houston’s best opportunity of the first half came in the ninth minute when team captain Amber Brooks found Sarah Hagen off a free kick, but her header missed the inside of the far post.

Rachel Daly was inches away from her fifth goal of the season in the 70th minute after Kristie Mewis’ corner kick found the forward inside the box, but her header bounced off the top corner of the near post.

Houston will wrap up the regular season at 5 p.m. on Sunday as they travel to the Midwest to face FC Kansas City at Swope Soccer Village. The match will be streamed live on the Go90 app and NWSLSoccer.com
