Team of the Week

Leonardo named to MLSsoccer.com Team of the Week for Week 33

A goal, an assist, and a shutout for Houston Dynamo defender Leonardo was enough to land him a spot on the MLSsoccer.com Team of the Week for Week 33.

Leonardo got a piece of a long throw-in from Adolfo Machado in the second minute of the Dynamo's 3-0 win over the Chicago Fire for his second goal of the year, then his long ball to Romell Quioto set up the Dynamo's final goal of the afternoon. It was Leonardo's first-ever MLS assist.

The Brazilian veteran also helped keep MLS Golden Boot winner Nemanja Nikolić and the rest of the Fire attack off the scoresheet for the team's eighth clean sheet of the season. Also named to the bench was fellow Brazilian and one-name wonder Alex, who picked up his 11th assist of the year with a terrific flick from midfield to Andrew Wenger to set up the Dynamo's second goal.
