Dynamo forward Alberth Elis nominated for CONCACAF Male Best XI

Houston Dynamo and Honduras forward Alberth Elis has been shortlisted for the 2017 CONCACAF Male Best XI, it was announced today. A portion of the voting is open to fans through December 13.

Players who played in an CONCACAF tournament at the club or national level, played for a CONCACAF member nation in a FIFA sanctioned international tournament, or played in a domestic league within CONCACAF's territory in 2017 are eligible. Fans, media, and member associations (national team head coaches and captains) are responsible for one-third of the voting each.


Elis, 21, joined the Dynamo on loan from Mexico's C.F. Monterrey and had a breakout season, scoring 10 goals and providing four assists in 26 regular season games played (18 starts). He also scored the winning the winning goal in extra time of the Dynamo's Knockout Round win over Sporting Kansas City in the Audi 2017 MLS Cup Playoffs.


With Honduras, Elis scored three goals in FIFA World Cup qualifying matches this year.
