Houston Dash acquire Lindsay Agnew, draft pick from Washington Spirit

The Houston Dash acquired forward Lindsay Agnewand the sixth overall selection in the 2018 NWSL College Draft from the Washington Spirit in a trade for the third overall selection in this year’s draft, the club announced today. 



Agnew, 22, tallied an assist in eight games for the Spirit last year after being selected in the second round of the 2017 NWSL College Draft by Washington. 


The forward finished her collegiate career at Ohio State University with 18 goals and 19 assists in 72 games. Agnew was co-captain of the Buckeyes in her final two seasons where she earned CoSIDA second team Academic All-American honors in 2016 and named to the Big Ten All-Tournament team in 2015. 


Internationally, the Kingston, Ontario native made her debut with the Canadian youth program in 2011 where she won a silver medal at the 2012 CONCACAF Women’s U-17 Championship. Additionally, the forward represented Canada at the 2012 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup and the 2014 U-20 FIFA Women’s World Cup.
