The Houston Dash and defender Amber Brooks have agreed to a new contract, the club announced today.

The 2017 Dash MVP was one of four field players in the National Women’s Soccer League that played all 2,160 minutes of the regular season. Brooks also wore the captain’s armband eight times throughout the year.

Last year was the most active season for the four-year NWSL veteran, who joined the Dash in a trade from Seattle Reign FC in 2016. She scored one goal and tallied two assists in her second season in Houston and was a key player in Houston’s five shutouts last season, the most for the club since 2015.

The New Hope, Pennsylvania native made her Dash debut in a 2-1 victory over the Chicago Red Stars in the opening weekend of the 2016 season on April 16.
