The Houston Dash acquired forwardTiffany Weimer from the Washington Spirit in a trade for the Dash’s natural fourth-round selection in the 2019 NWSL College Draft, the club announced today.

Weimerwas selected with the 20th overall selection by Washington in the NWSL dispersal draft held on Jan. 30 after the league announced that the Boston Breakers would cease operations prior to the 2018 regular season. The 34-year-old joins Houston after spending the 2017 season with Boston, where she recorded one assist and made 17 appearances. The forward made for appearances with FC Kansas City in 2016 and spent part of the year with Swedish club Kvarnsvedens IK, where she scored five goals in 10 appearances.

Weimer spent the 2014 and 2015 seasons with the Washington Spirit, but missed a significant part of each season while dealing with a knee injury. The Penn State product joined Portland Thorns FC midway through the 2013 season where she scored the game-tying goal in the semifinal of the inaugural NWSL season and went on to help the Thorns win the league championship.
