The Houston Dash will travel to Portland, Oregon to compete in the Thorns Spring Invitational presented by Tillamook Yogurt from March 11-17, the club announced today. The Dash will face the reigning NWSL Champion Portland Thorns FC, the Chicago Red Stars, and the United States Under-23 Women’s National Team in the tournament.
Houston will open the tournament at 1:30 p.m. CDT on March 11 against the U-23 USWNT at the University of Portland. Three days later, the Dash face Chicago at 3:30 p.m. CDT and close the tournament at 9:30 p.m. CDT on March 17 against the Thorns.
This will be the first time that Houston will face NWSL competition under new head coach Vera Pauw, who enters her first season with the club. It will be Houston’s fourth appearance in the competition, which will take place at the University of Portland this year as renovations at Providence Park continue.
