Campbell, Hanson reflect on career-defining moments at BBVA Compass Stadium

MSFontService, sans-serif; line-height: 19px;" xml:lang="EN-US">Campbell, 23, earned her third cap for the senior team, but this was the first time she guarded the USWNT’s goal as the starting goalkeeper. 
MSFontService, sans-serif; line-height: 19px;" xml:lang="EN-US">“Being here at BBVA (Compass Stadium) was amazing, even during warm ups – it just felt like home,” Campbell said after the USWNT’s 6-2 victory. “Getting the first start here is something special.”

The midfielder was named to the national team as an injury replacement earlier this month and MSFontService, sans-serif; line-height: 19px;" xml:lang="EN-US">had MSFontService, sans-serif; line-height: 19px;" xml:lang="EN-US">previously only spent time with the U-23 USWNT. The University of Nebraska product is still adjusting to life as a professional after she was drafted with the seventh overall pick in the 2018 NWSL College Draft in January. 


MSFontService, sans-serif; line-height: 19px;" xml:lang="EN-US">“It was surreal, yeah – a little scary and exciting, but all-in-all I was comfortable out there,” Hanson said. “Everyone was really supportive and instructed me, so they made it a great experience all-in-all.”

MSFontService, sans-serif; line-height: 19px;" xml:lang="EN-US">“I saw the team in the box, so I was super happy to see them and just like last year,” Campbell said “It was amazing to have them here and I’m sure Haley thought it was so special to see them, and I just loved having them here.”
