The Houston Dash acquired Canadian national team defender Allysha Chapman and a pair of draft picks from the North Carolina Courage in exchange for their natural first-round draft pick in the 2019 NWSL College Draft. In addition to Chapman, Houston receives North Carolina's natural second-round draft pick and the second-round draft pick acquired from Seattle Reign FC in 2019.

Chapman was selected with the 10th pick in the NWSL Dispersal Draft by North Carolina on Jan. 30 after the league announced that the Boston Breakers would cease operations prior to the 2018 NWSL regular season. The 29-year-old has appeared in one game for North Carolina this season and played in 19 games for Boston in 2017.

Chapman played in 14 NWSL matches for Houston during the 2015 and 2016 season. The Courtice, Ontario native has scored a goal and tallied two assists in 51 appearances for the Canadian Women's National Team and won the bronze medal at the 2016 Rio Olympic Games along with Dash forward Nichelle Prince. Additionally, the defender was a member of the CanWNT that won the 2016 Algarve Cup, the first in Canada's history.

Chapman will be available for selection on tonight’s match as Houston hosts Portland Thorns FC at 7 p.m. at BBVA Compass Stadium.
