The Houston Dash opened a stretch of three games in eight days with a 3-1 defeat to Seattle Reign FC this evening at Memorial Stadium.

Dash defender Amber Brooks gave Houston an early lead in the 12th minute off of a corner kick when her header beat Reign goalkeeper Lydia Williams at the near post. Midfielder Sofia Huerta's corner kick found Brooks for her first goal of the season and third with the club.

Huerta won the corner after she forced a save with a shot from the edge of the box that was punched over the crossbar by Williams. The midfielder now has two goals and an assist in three games with Houston after joining the club via a trade on June 18.

Seattle equalized in the 38th minute after forward Megan Rapinoe's throw-in found Jodie Taylor inside the box. The forward lobbed the ball over Dash goalkeeper Jane Campbell to level things heading into halftime.

The Reign took the lead after they were awarded a penalty kick in the 56th minute when forward Elizabeth Addo suffered a foul inside the box. Rapinoe converted the penalty for her sixth goal of the season.

Midfielder Allie Long scored Seattle's third goal of the game in the 85th minute with a one-time strike off a cross from Rapinoe.

With Houston leading in the 31st minute, Dash forward Kealia Ohai nearly doubled the advantage when her long-range shot skipped just past the far post.

Campbell finished with four saves including a key save in the 47th minute in a one-on-one duel with Taylor outside the six yard box.

The Dash will return to BBVA Compass Stadium on Wednesday, July 11 to host the Pride for 70s Night. Tickets for the match start at $19 and are available here.
