Five Dash players will be eligible for selection this weekend as the W-League kicks off its 10th season.

Sofia Huerta and Sydney FC featured in the first game of the season on Thursday as they defeated the Western Sydney Wanderers 3-0 in the first Sydney derby of the season. Sydney FC look to claim their first honor since the 2012/2013 season when they won the Grand Final. The club was the runner up in both the Premiership and Grand Final during the 2017/2018 season.

Clare Polkinghorne returns to Brisbane Roar and hosts Perth Glory FC at Suncorp Stadium at 10:30 p.m. CDT on Saturday. The defender and Brisbane claimed the Premier last season by finishing at the top of the table, but fell short in the Final Series to the current champion, Melbourne City FC.

Kyah Simon and the defending W-League champions, Melbourne City FC, begin their title defense on the road as they travel to the nation’s capital to face Canberra United.

Amber Brooks, Veronica Latsko and Adelaide United begin the season on the road as they wrap up Round 1 on Sunday at 12:15 a.m. CDT against Melbourne Victory. The Dash duo aims to take Adelaide to the Final Series for the first time in club history. Adelaide’s best finish came during the 2015/2016 season when they finished three points short of the knockout round.
