Houston Dash Forward Rachel Daly named to England Women’s National Team for two friendlies

Rachel Daly was named to the England Women’s National Team roster by head coach Phil Neville for a pair of friendlies against Austria and Sweden, the Football Association announced today.  


The Lionesses will host Austria on Thursday, Nov. 8 and Sweden on Nov. 11 for a clash with the silver medal winners of the 2016 Rio Olympics.  Daly has scored two goals in 15 appearances for England.  


The forward was named the club’s Most Valuable Player on Oct. 12 after she scored a career-high 10 goals in her third season with the Dash. In addition to three NWSL Team of the Month honors this season, Daly was named to the NWSL Second XI on Sept. 20.  


Selected sixth overall by the Dash in the 2016 NWSL Draft, Daly ranks second in club history with 19 goals. She has appeared in 63 games with 59 starts in her first three seasons, seeing time at both forward and right back for the club.
