Clare Polkinghorne and Brisbane Roar defeated the Newcastle Jets 1-0 last Thursday to secure their second victory in three games. The center back logged a full shift as Brisbane remained in fifth place on the W-League ladder.

Amber Brooks, Veronica Latsko and Adelaide United remain unbeaten after a stoppage-time goal secured a 1-1 draw with Kyah Simon and Melbourne City FC last Saturday. Simon gave City the lead early in the second half after converting a penalty kick. Brooks was called for a foul inside the box, but the defender played a massive role as the final seconds ticked down on the match with a low cross to the top of the box that found Georgia Campagnale for her first goal of the season.

Sofia Huerta and Sydney FC fell 2-0 to Canberra United and have now lost three consecutive games. The defender finished with three shots, one that was blocked in the 45th minute from the edge of the box.
