Sofia Huerta and Sydney FC defeated Western Sydney Wanderers 3-0 last Thursday as they keep pushing for a spot in the finals. Sydney FC have won four out of their last five games and sit four points behind the first-place Melbourne Victory with three games left in the regular season. Sofia Huerta scored her second goal of the season with a dazzling individual effort in the first half. The forward dribbled past two defenders inside the box and beat the Western Sydney goalkeeper at the near post for the first goal of the game.

Clare Polkinghorne and Brisbane Roar sit in second place with three games to go after a 1-0 victory at Melbourne City on Friday. Brisbane have secured 10 points out of their last four games and are tied with Melbourne Victory for the fewest goals allowed this season with 12.

Amber Brooks, Veronica Latsko and Adelaide United fell to Canberra United 1-0 last Saturday at McKellar Park. Latsko forced a save in the final 10 minutes but Adelaide were held scoreless for the first time since Round 1, a 0-0 draw with Melbourne Victory.
