RGV FC Toros wrap-up three game road trip in Phoenix

The RGV FC Toros take a five-game unbeaten streak to Arizona later this evening as they face Phoenix Rising FC at 9:30 p.m. CT.

The Toros finished the month of May with a 3-0-2 record and look to build on a three-game stretch where the team has scored 11 goals. Michael Salazar leads the team in goals with four after a hat-trick in a 4-4 draw with LA Galaxy II on May 24. The Toros sit one-point shy for a share of the final playoff spot in the Western Conference. With a victory – the Toros could enter the weekend as high as fourth in the table prior to the next wave of USL Championship games.

RGV can expect defensive reinforcement this evening as Dynamo goalkeeper Michael Nelson join the side on loan for the match.

Phoenix enters the match with a two-game winless streak after a road trip to California. Phoenix has a 1-0-3 record at home after they defeated Tacoma Defiance 4-0 in their last home game on April 20. Junior Flemmings leads the team in goals with four, but the Phoenix offense offers variety as Solomon Asante, Adam Jahn and Jason Johnson have combined for nine goals this season.

The match will be streamed live on ESPN +.
