Sofia Huerta returns to the Australia’s W-League to play for Sydney FC this offseason

Houston Dash midfielder Sofia Huerta will compete in Australia’s W-League during the NWSL offseason to play for Sydney FC for the second consecutive year.

Huerta has been an essential piece for the Dash in the attacking midfield this season. Alongside forward Rachel Daly, Huerta leads the team with five goals, three of which were game winners. Huerta scored five goals and tallied four assists in 12 games for Houston during the 2018 campaign after joining the Dash in June via a trade with the Chicago Red Stars. Last year, the midfielder helped Sydney FC win the 2018-19 season in a 4-2 victory over the Perth Glory. She scored eight goals for Adelaide United during the 2016-17 campaign.
