The Dynamo kicked off their 15th preseason Monday morning at Houston Sports Park under new Head Coach Tab Ramos. “It was great to see all the players back," said Ramos, "Everybody reported in pretty good shape, which is nice to see, and the first session was really positive, so I am really looking forward to the rest.”

Mauro ManotasChristian RamirezAlberth Elis and Darwin Quintero headline the attacking options Ramos will have at his disposal as he installs a new style of play in the squad. “It’s a totally different system. It’s very similar to the formation we used to have a very successful season in 2017. We hope to make the best decisions for the team, to get better and progress this season,” said Manotas.

Not only does the new coaching staff plan on promoting a new style of play, but there is also a major focus on building a culture around the club, an approach that is appreciated by Ramirez and the rest of the first team, “He is fresh and energetic, and we are all here to listen and to learn. He is also very open and has an open locker where he has a good relationship and you can come in and speak to him. He is very friendly in that way.”

Undoubtedly bringing Ramos onboard has brought a sense of positivity to the start of preseason, something that the staff will hope to capitalize on in preparing for the grueling 8 month MLS campaign that lays in front of them.

“We are so excited for the upcoming season," said Dynamo GM Matt Jordan, "We are incredibly pleased to have Tab Ramos as our head coach. There’s a big sense of excitement and optimism for the season. We felt that energy on the field here today. We are just so excited and can’t wait to keep rolling.”

Fans will have their first chance to see the squad in person January 25 at Fan Fest at BBVA Stadium. Tickets for the free event are available at HoustonDynamo.com/FanFest.
