More than 45,000 tickets have been sold for the 2010 AT&T MLS All-Star Game, to be held July 28 at Reliant Stadium, the Houston Dynamo announced today.
With slightly more than two weeks before the game, buyers have already purchased a significant portion of the lower bowl at Reliant Stadium since the match was announced. Powerhouse English club Manchester United, the opponent for the MLS All-Stars, arrived in the United States on Monday to begin preparation for their North American tour that includes matches in Toronto, Philadelphia, and Kansas City, and culminates at the 2010 AT&T MLS All-Star Game in Houston.
“We are happy to see the positive response from not only Dynamo fans, but sports fans throughout Houston and Texas with regard to this historic event,” said Dynamo Chief Operating Officer Chris Canetti. “The atmosphere on July 28 will be electric, and it will be an event no one wants to miss.”
For a limited time only, tickets to the 2010 AT&T MLS All-Star Game will be priced as low as $20. The offer will be available through July 19 and requires a minimum purchase of four tickets. The Dynamo are also offering discounts to groups of 10 more who would like to attend the match. Packages are also available that include both an All-Star Game ticket and a ticket to the Houston vs. New York match on Saturday, July 31. All offers are available at HoustonDynamo.com or by calling (713) 276-7500.
The All-Star Game is Manchester United’s first ever visit to Houston and is expected to be the most popular soccer game in Houston soccer history. The game will feature the MLS All-Stars against Manchester United, winners of a record 18 league titles and 11 FA Cup titles. Manchester United’s roster includes international stars like midfielders Ryan Giggs and Paul Scholes, Mexican sensation Javier Hernandez, and Dutch all-time caps leader Edwin van der Sar.
The Dynamo are back in action on Thursday night, hosting the first of three SuperLiga games in seven days when they host Pachuca at 7 p.m. at Robertson Stadium.
