The Houston Dynamo have acquired midfielder Leonel Miranda on a season-long loan from Club Atlético Independiente of Argentina’s Primera Division, the club announced today. Miranda will be added to the Dynamo roster upon receipt of his P-1 Visa and international transfer certificate. Per club and league policy, terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

“We are very pleased to add Leonel Miranda to our roster,” said Dynamo vice president/general manager Matt Jordan. “He's a dynamic, young and versatile midfielder that can play several different positions. We feel the experiences he’s had at a young age with one of the top clubs in Argentina will benefit our club moving forward.”

The 21-year-old signed with the Argentine club in October 2012 and made his Primera Division debut with the Buenos Aires powerhouse in March 2013. The midfielder made 34 first-team appearances and scored two goals with El Rojo, one of Argentina’s most successful clubs with a record seven Copa Libertadores championships.

The Dynamo open the 2015 season on Saturday, March 7 at BBVA Compass Stadium against Columbus Crew SC. Full-season, 10-game and 5-game plans for the Dynamo’s tenth season are available now. Full-season packages start at $380, with partial packages starting at $99. Individual tickets for the first five home games of the 2015 will be available at a later date.
