After a successful first two days of qualifying that saw the Houston Dynamo’s George Adamou earn a spot in the knockout round of the first eMLS competition of the 2022 season, the Dynamo’s eSports athlete fell in the quarterfinals to DC United’s KingCJ0.

Adamou earned his spot in the knockout round of the eMLS League Series 1 by going 9-2-3 in qualifying. As a result, he was put in a two-legged knockout bracket with the other top-eight seeds.

In his first and only matchup in the knockout stage, Adamou drew 2-2 against KingCJ0 in the first leg and lost the second leg by a final score of 3-2, losing on aggregate by a final score of 5-4.

While the result was disappointing, Adamou will have another chance to attain eMLS glory for the Dynamo when League Series 2 kicks off on January 29 and 30. Following the completion of the two eMLS League Series, the top 11 players will automatically advance to eMLS Cup, which will take place on Sunday, March 13th.
