THE RESULT:

  • Extended the Dynamo’s home unbeaten streak to 10 consecutive matches, and seven straight in MLS regular-season play.
  • Improved Houston’s record this season to 7-6-6 on the season.
  • Improved the club’s record at BBVA Compass Stadium to 6-2-2 on the season.
  • Improved Houston’s record against FC Dallas to 10-9-12 all-time and 7-4-5 at home.


TEAM NOTES:

  • The Dynamo conceded the game’s opening goal when FC Dallas scored 53 seconds into the match. It marked the eighth time this year that the Dynamo allowed the first goal of the game, and the team is now 1-4-3 in those contests.
  • The Dynamo scored in the eighth minute off a cross from FW Romell Quioto to FW Mauro Manotas. It was the team’s seventh goal scored in the first 10 minutes of a game this year. Houston is now 4-2-1 this year when scoring inside of 10 minutes.
  • The Dynamo and FC Dallas were tied 1-1 at halftime. It was the seventh time this year that the Dynamo were level at the break, and they are now 2-2-3 in those games.
  • Video Review was implemented after an apparent goal by Houston FW Mauro Manotas in the 62nd minute. As a result of the review, the goal for Houston was disallowed due to Manotas committing an offside offense.
  • FC Dallas had more of the possession, holding the ball for 56.1 percent of the match. It was the 12th time this year that the Dynamo had less of the ball than their opponent, and they are now 4-5-3 in those games.
  • FC Dallas outshot the Dynamo 15-12. It was just the eighth time in 19 matches that the Dynamo were outshot, and they are now 0-3-5 in those games.
  • The Dynamo used their 19th different starting lineup in 19 games this year. Head coach Wilmer Cabrera has now used 41 different starting lineup combinations in 43 games on the Dynamo sideline since the start of the 2017 season.

  • DF DaMarcus Beasley made his 200th appearance in MLS regular-season play tonight.

  • FW Mauro Manotas scored in the eighth minute to match his career single-season high with 10 on the year, equaling his total from last season.
  • The goal was the 34th of Manotas’ career across all competitions, which moved him into a tie with former Dynamo FW Giles Barnes for fourth on the club’s all-time scoring list in all competitions.
  • Manotas has scored in six of his last eight appearances across all competitions and in six of his last seven starts. He has eight total goals in that time span, which began on June 9 vs. Colorado.
  • Manotas made his 51st career start and appeared in his 82nd career league game.
  • FW Romell Quioto recorded his 11th assist of the season, and the 14th of his MLS career, when his cross set up FW Mauro Manotas for a goal in the eighth minute. That assist moved him into a tie for ninth on the club’s all-time list with former Dynamo FW Giles Barnes.
  • Quioto has now recorded a goal and/or an assist in 10 out of 14 games as a starter this season.
  • Quioto made his 14th start of the season and his 28th career MLS regular season start tonight.
  • GK Joe Willis saved a penalty for the second time this season and third time in his career when he stopped Dallas FW Roland Lamah’s effort in the 61st minute. Willis also saved a penalty on April 21 vs. Toronto. Willis previously saved a penalty on July 15, 2016 at the LA Galaxy.
  • Willis made his 14th start of the season and his 49th regular season start with the Dynamo.
  • DF Jared Watts was credited with a secondary assist on FW Mauro Manotas’ goal in the eighth minute when his pass set up FW Romell Quioto to hit the cross that Manotas headed in. It was his first assist with the Dynamo and the fourth of his career.
  • Watts won a game-high three tackles and completed 87.8 percent of his 41 passes in the game.
