Team Notes

• With the tie he Dynamo are now 5-11-11 on the season, with 26 points in 27 matches.
• The Dynamo came back from a two-goal deficit to gain a draw or win for the first time since June 20, 2012, when they overturned a 3-1 deficit to Toronto FC with two goals from Will Bruin (73rd and 90th minutes).
• D Raul Rodríguez’s tying goal in the 94th minute was the second-latest goal scored by Houston this season, following Cristian Maidana’s game-winning free kick in the 95th minute against Philadelphia on July 2.
• It also was the latest Dynamo road goal since April 20, 2013 at Toronto FC, when Warren Creavalle’s goal line header delivered a 1-1 tie at BMO Field.
• The three goals were the most scored by the Dynamo on the road since March 19 at the New York Red Bulls, a 4-3 defeat.
• The Dynamo trailed at halftime for the sixth time this season. Houston improved to 0-4-2 when losing at the break this season.
• The Dynamo allowed the first goal for the 10th time this season. Houston is now 0-7-3 when allowing the first goal this year.
• Interim head coach Wade Barrett’s record is now 2-4-9 on the Dynamo sideline in regular-season play.
• Houston’s record in the month of September is 0-0-1 after a 1-2-2 mark in August.
• This was the 25th all-time regular season meeting between the clubs and the Dynamo are now 9-5-11 against Sporting KC, with a 4-2-6 mark on the road.
• Houston went to 1-0-1 against Sporting KC in MLS action this season.

Player Notes

• F Mauro Manotas scored his first career MLS goal in the 30th minute. It was Manotas’ fifth career goal in all competitions with the Dynamo after he tallied four times in the U.S. Open Cup, including twice against Sporting Kansas City on June 29.
• MF Alex Lima scored his fourth goal of the season, extending an MLS career-high. It was also his second straight game with a goal after scoring vs. FC Dallas on August 27. It was Alex’ ninth career MLS regular-season goal.
• D Raúl Rodríguez scored his first goal of the season, and third career regular-season goal with the Dynamo. It was his second career goal against Sporting KC and first goal since August 29, 2015 vs. Vancouver.
• MF Ricardo Clark tied Jesse Marsch for 22nd on the MLS all-time starts list among field players with his 286th career regular-season start.
• MF Boniek García recorded two assists and now has eight this season, a career-high during his MLS tenure and the most for the Dynamo this season.
• It also was García’s fifth career two-assist game with the Dynamo and first since June 26 at the Portland Timbers.
• García now has 28 career assists in all competitions with the Dynamo and passed Corey Ashe for fourth on the club list.
• It was García’s 113th career MLS regular-season appearances to tie Giles Barnes for 11th on the club list.
• D DaMarcus Beasley returned to the lineup for the first time since July 8 at Orlando City after missing eight games following knee surgery. He wore the captain’s armband for the seventh time under interim head coach Wade Barrett.
• D Keyner Brown made his MLS debut, entering as a substitute for Beasley in the 76th minute.
• MF Eric Alexander made his 175th career appearance in MLS regular-season competition, entering as a substitute for MF Cristián Maidana in the 80th minute.
• MF Collen Warner was issued a yellow card in the 65th minute. It was Warner’s second caution of the season.
• Alex was issued a yellow card in the 83rd minute. It was his sixth caution of the season.
• F Will Bruin entered for Warner in the 83rd minute. It was Bruin’s first appearance since August 24 against Seattle after missing two games with knee swelling.
