INTERNATIONAL: Alexander has played two games with the United States national team, playing his first match on January 22, 2011 against Chile, also faced South Korea in a friendly game on February 1, 2014.

COLLEGE: Played a total of 91 career games with Indiana University, including 80 starts, recording 12 goals and 13 assists. He was selected twice to the second team All-Big Ten selection, and once to the first-team All-Big Ten selection in 2007. He was a unanimous pick for the Big Ten All-Freshman Team in 2006. Alexander was also a standout in the classroom as a three-time Academic All-Big Ten selection.
