Houston Dynamo, Kroger announce Founding Partnership

The Houston Dynamo and Kroger have reached a long-term sponsorship agreement. The agreement will make Kroger the official and exclusive retail grocery partner of the Houston Dynamo in addition to a founding partner of BBVA Compass Stadium, which will open May 12.

Furthermore, the partnership makes Kroger the presenting sponsor of the Dynamo Skills Challenge, a community grassroots program developed to help local youth learn the fundamentals of soccer.

“The opening of the new stadium is one the most anticipated events this year in Houston and Kroger is proud to not only be a founding partner but a community liaison for the organization,” said Bill Breetz, president of the Kroger Southwest Division. “We recognize the importance of supporting soccer fans across our city’s diverse landscape.”

With the new partnership, Kroger and the Dynamo will implement neighborhood outreach programs and store promotions that focus on fighting hunger, supporting education, and promoting healthy eating and lifestyles.

“We are very excited to announce our new agreement with one of the nation’s largest retail grocery chains. Kroger is a company that understands the value of supporting their respective communities through its many grassroots based community initiatives,” said Dynamo Senior Vice President for Business Development Steven Powell. “We look forward to assisting Kroger in growing its business in greater Houston and through our partnership, supporting its efforts to maintain and grow its reputation as America’s most generous company.”
