Loan Update: Michael Lisch named to USL PRO Team of the Week as Riverhounds defeat OC Blues 1-0

Houston Dynamo goalkeeper Michael Lisch was named to the USL PRO Team of the Week on Tuesday. The rookie made four saves and kept a clean sheet as the Pittsburgh Riverhounds defeated the Orange Country Blues, 1-0, on Friday at Highmark Stadium.

It was Lisch’s third shutout of the season and led Pittsburgh to its sixtth win in its last eight games.

Lisch made an important save on Stephen Okai in the closing minutes to preserve the win. “I made myself as big as possible, came out, cut the angle and came up with the save," Lisch told the Riverhounds website. "That’s what you’re there for.”

Lisch was helped in the back by Dynamo defender Anthony Arena, who played 90 minutes to help lead Pittsburgh to three points. In addition, Dynamo forward Jason Johnson started and played 57 minutes.

The win improves Pittsburgh’s record to 7-11-5 (26 points) after the club started the season 1-9-5.

The Riverhounds hit the road this weekend to visit Arizona United SC on Saturday at Peoria Sports Complex.

The Riverhounds are the USL PRO affiliate of the Houston Dynamo after the clubs formed an affiliate partnership for the 2014 season last November.
