Houston Dynamo unveil new "Paint It Black" secondary kits for 2016

The Houston Dynamo unveiled their new secondary kits with the completion of a unique graffiti mural composed by renowned local street artist GONZO247 on Wednesday evening.

The mural, located at St. Emanuel and Leeland Streets, depicts defender Raúl Rodríguez in the new kit along with graffiti elements of the team's "Paint It Black" campaign surrounding the new uniforms.

The jerseys are a departure from previous Dynamo alternate shirts, which have traditionally been white. While embracing the black elements, the authentic jerseys stay true to the club's "Forever Orange" rallying cry with three shades of orange in an inverted chevron across the chest to give its distinctive look. The shirt also includes Space City Blue trim on the collar and sleeves, as well as the team's jersey partner, BHP Billiton.

The jock tag retains the Lone Star Flag of Texas, and "Forever Orange" printed on the inside neck tape. A Dynamo wordmark is placed on the outer neck inset, and the Dynamo crest is presented in a two-tone variation of black and orange.

The kits will be worn for the first time at the Dynamo's home opener against the New England Revolution on March 6 at BBVA Compass Stadium (2 p.m. CT; TICKETS). The team will wear the secondary kits for four additional home games in 2016 (May 7 vs. Sporting Kansas City, July 23 vs. Vancouver Whitecaps, August 27 vs. FC Dallas, October 16 vs. LA Galaxy), as well as away games as needed. Special #PaintItBlack 4-Pack tickets are available for home games featuring the black kits, which include four tickets and four limited edition match posters designed by local street artists. The first poster includes GONZO247's #PaintItBlack mural design.
