Major League Soccer, MLS WORKS, the U.S. Soccer Foundation, Southern New Hampshire University, adidas, and Canada Soccer worked together in 2016 to build new mini-pitches in all 20 MLS markets.
The Houston Dynamo constructed their mini-pitch at the KIPP Southeast Campus in May with children, teachers and administration from the school in attendance with Dynamo players. The mini-pitches offer children in these communities a safe place to play, while providing a soccer environment that encourages unstructured play within local communities, supporting the continued growth of the game.
