TEAM NOTES:
- The Dynamo conceded the first goal of the game for the second consecutive game. Houston improved to 1-1-0 on the year when conceding the opening goal. Houston conceded the first goal 13 times last year and went 0-10-3 in those games.
- The last game that the Dynamo won after conceding the first goal was on June 5, 2015, also at home against the Red Bulls in a 4-2 result, a span of 57 games.
- The Dynamo led at halftime for the fourth consecutive game. Houston improved to 3-1-0 when leading at intermission so far this season and was 5-3-4 last year.
- The Dynamo outscored the Red Bulls 2-0 in the second half, marking the first game this season in which the team “won” the second half.
- The Dynamo have now outscored their opponents 9-3 at BBVA Compass Stadium this season.
- The headed goal scored by DF Dylan Remick in the 14th minute was Houston’s second goal from a corner kick this season. It was also the first scored by a player not listed as a forward, and the first scored by a Dynamo player with a body part other than their right foot.
- The goal scored by DF Dylan Remick in the 14th minute was Houston’s third this season inside the first 15 minutes.
- After only drawing one penalty all season in 2016, the Dynamo have drawn two in as many games. FW Erick Torres has converted both.

INDIVIDUAL PLAYER NOTES:
- FW Erick Torres recorded his first career hat trick, scoring in the 41st, 56th and 91st minute. It was Torres’ third career multi-goal game and his first since Sept. 1, 2013 for Chivas USA at Vancouver.
- Torres recorded the seventh hat trick in Dynamo history and the first since Sept. 30, 2016 by Mauro Manotas.
- Torres scored for the fourth consecutive game, setting a record for the longest such streak in club history, when he converted a penalty in the 41st minute.
- The four-game goalscoring streak is tied for the second-longest such streak in Torres’ career. He tallied in four straight games from March 9-30, 2014 and scored in six straight games from June 8-July 20 of that season.
- Torres’ goal in the 91st minute was the 16th goal scored after the 90th minute in club history.
- Torres scored his fourth, fifth and sixth goals of the season and the 26th, 27th and 28th of his career.
- Four of Torres’ six goals so far this season have come off of either free kicks or penalty kicks.
- MF Alex notched his fourth assist of the season when he picked out DF Dylan Remick on a corner kick in the 14th minute.
- Alex’s four assists this season match his career total entering the year.
- DF Jalil Anibaba made his 150th career start in MLS regular-season competition tonight.
- DF DaMarcus Beasley into a game as a substitute for the first time with the Dynamo and just the 11th time in his career. Beasley had started in 152 of his 162 career MLS appearances prior to tonight.
- DF A.J. DeLaGarza made his 200th career start in MLS regular-season competition tonight.
- MF Ricardo Clark made his 295th start in MLS play and his 220th for the Dynamo tonight. Clark started his career with the New York/New Jersey MetroStars, the club which became the New York Red Bulls, in 2003 and 2004. He played in 54 games with 47 starts for the club over those two seasons.
- GK Tyler Deric made his 58th career start for the Dynamo and improved his record as a starter to 20-22-14.
- FW Alberth Elis came on as a substitute in the 64th minute, replacing FW Andrew Wenger.
- MF Boniek García made his 123rd career appearance in MLS regular-season competition when he came on for MF Ricardo Clark in the 59th minute.
- DF Adolfo Machado is starting his fourth consecutive game.
- Machado also started and played all 180 minutes in two FIFA World Cup Qualifying matches for Panama last week.
- FW Mauro Manotas made his first start of the 2017 season tonight. He started 10 games in 2016, scoring six goals in those games.
- Manotas won the penalty that FW Erick Torres converted in the 41st minute
- DF Dylan Remick scored his first career goal when he headed in a cross from MF Alex on a corner kick in the 14th minute.
- FW Andrew Wenger made his first start of the 2017 season after starting a career-high 24 games a year ago. Wenger has played in all four games this season. He came on as a substitute in each of the first three games of the year.
