  • The Dynamo scored at least four goals for the second time this season at home.

  • Before kickoff, BBVA Compass Stadium welcomed its three millionth guest through the gates. The Duncan family – Mike, Angie and Connor – were greeted with confetti, music, and gifts from Dynamo mascot Dynamo Diesel. The Duncans received a custom No. 3 Dynamo jersey with “MILLION” on the name plate and were upgraded to VIP Field Seats for the game, along with other surprises and experiences.
  • The Dynamo were awarded a penalty in the 11th minute when FW Mauro Manotas was fouled inside the penalty area by Orlando MF Will Johnson. It was the fourth awarded to the team this season through nine games. In 2016, Houston drew a league-low one penalty all season.
  • The Dynamo used their ninth different starting lineup in nine games thus far on the season.


INDIVIDUAL PLAYER NOTES:

  • MF Alex notched his second two-assist game of the season. His first assist of the night came when he set up FW Mauro Manotas’ goal in the 51st minute. Alex dribbled into the box and played a low pass into the path of Manotas, who ripped a low shot into the back of the net. He got his second
  • With six assists on the season, Alex has exceeded his career total prior to this year.
  • Alex’s six assists on the season put him in a tie for the league lead in the category with Toronto FC MF Victor Vazquez.
  • Alex made his 47th start overall for the Dynamo and the 95th of his MLS career. If he continues to start every game, Alex would start his 100th career game on May 31 at home vs. Real Salt Lake.
  • MF Eric Alexander left the game after just nine minutes when he suffered a right knee injury on a tackle near midfield in the fifth minute.
  • Alexander made his eighth start of the season, his 11th as a member of the Dynamo and the 138th of his career tonight.
  • DF DaMarcus Beasley wore the captain’s armband for the third consecutive match in what was his 156th career start and 68th as a Dynamo tonight. Beasley gave the armband to MF Ricardo Clark when Clark came on as a substitute for MF Eric Alexander in the ninth minute.
  • MF Juan David Cabezas made his fourth start with the Dynamo and his third in a row tonight.
  • MF Ricardo Clark returned to the 18-man matchday roster after missing the last two games due to injury and entered in the ninth minute as a substitute for MF Eric Alexander, who went off with a right knee injury.
  • DF A.J. DeLaGarza registered his fifth career assist and his first with the Dynamo when he played a ball in to FW Alberth Elis in the 23rd minute to set up the game’s opening goal. It was DeLaGarza’s first assist since August 9, 2015 with the LA Galaxy against Seattle.
  • DeLaGarza received a caution in the 59th minute for persistent infringement.
  • DeLaGarza made his 202nd career start in tonight’s game.
  • FW Alberth Elis scored his fourth goal of the season when he beat Orlando GK Joe Bendik with a hard, low, right-footed blast from the right corner of the penalty area in the 23rd minute. Elis has now scored in three consecutive home games.
  • Elis made his eighth start of the season and his fifth in a row tonight. Elis has played in all nine games this season.
  • MF Boniek García made his eighth appearance of the year when he came on as a substitute for MF Alex in the 73rd minute.
  • DF Leonardo made his third consecutive start, his sixth with the Dynamo and the 86th of his career tonight. It was his 91st career appearance in MLS regular-season play.
  • DF Adolfo Machado played all 90 minutes for the ninth consecutive game, remaining the only Dynamo player to have been on the field for every minute this season.
  • Machado started his ninth consecutive game. He and Alex are the only two players to have started every game this season.
  • FW Mauro Manotas registered his third career multi-goal game and first of the season. His first goal came when he blasted a right-footed shot through a save attempt by Orlando GK Joe Bendik in the 51st minute. He completed his brace in the 65th minute when he finished a Dynamo break by slotting a ball home off the right post.
  • Manotas picked up his second career assist and his first of the season when he set up FW Romell Quioto for the final goal of the game with a chipped pass in behind the Orlando defense.
  • Manotas earned a penalty in the 11th minute when he was fouled by Orlando MF Will Johnson in the penalty area, but he missed the subsequent penalty kick. It was Manotas’ first career missed penalty.
  • Manotas made his fourth start of the season and the 14th of his career tonight.
  • FW Romell Quioto scored his fourth goal of the season and his first since March 18 at Portland when he curled a shot in the upper right corner of the net in the 75th minute.
  • Quioto notched his first assist of the season and first with the Dynamo when he set up FW Mauro Manotas for a goal in the 65th minute.
  • Quioto was issued a yellow card in the third minute of first-half stoppage time for refusing to retreat from an Orlando free kick. It was Quioto’s second caution of the year.
  • Quioto returned to the starting lineup for the first time since March 18 at Portland, making his fourth start of the season.
  • FW Vicente Sánchez made his fifth appearance of the season when he came in as a substitute for FW Romell Quioto in the 79th minute.
  • GK Joe Willis recorded his second clean sheet of the season and second in as many home games. Willis has not conceded a goal in his last 211 minutes played at BBVA Compass Stadium.
  • Willis recorded his 14th career victory as a starter and improved his record as a starter to 14-27-15.
  • Willis made his 53rd career start and his fourth in a row this season after starting 24 games a year ago for the Dynamo.
