Tigres to face Monarcas Morelia in a friendly match in Houston October 7

Liga MX clubs Tigres and Monarcas Morelia will square off in a friendly match at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 7 at BBVA Compass Stadium in a match presented by SPD Sports, stadium officials announced today.


Tickets for the match will go on sale Friday, August 25 at 10 a.m. CDT, with prices starting at $38. Kids 10 and under will enter free when accompanied by an adult with a ticket. Tickets may be purchased online at BBVACompassStadium.com, by phone at 713-547-3000, or in person at the BBVA Compass Stadium Box Office (open Monday-Friday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.) Tickets are also available at all Houston-area La Michoacana meat markerts.

Tigres’ five championships and recent success have placed the team amongst the top teams in Liga MX. Los Auriazules may feature stars such as FW André-Pierre Gignac, GK Nahuel Guzmán and Mexican international MF Jürgen Damm. Tigres recent success includes winning Liga MX twice in the last two years and reaching the final of international tournaments Copa Libertadores and CONCACAF Champions League.


Monarcas Morelia is one of Mexico’s most historic teams. La MonarquĂ­a won the Mexican league in Invierno (Fall) 2000, and also won Copa MX in 2013 and Supercopa MX in 2014. Morelia may feature Peruvian international, FW RaĂşl RuidĂ­az, who was the top goalscorer in Liga MX for the last two seasons and was named Liga MX’s best forward in 2016-17.
