THE RESULT:

• Eliminated the Dynamo from the Audi 2017 MLS Cup Playoffs, bringing the 2017 season to a close.
• Dropped Houston’s record in the Audi 2017 MLS Cup Playoffs to 2-2-1.
• Gave Houston a 16-10-7 all-time record in the postseason.

TEAM NOTES:

• Video review was utilized for the second time in a Dynamo postseason game when, in the 63rd minute, referee Hilario Grajeda consulted with video replay to evaluate an incident involving MF Tomás Martínez. After further review, it was determined that Martínez was guilty of violent conduct, and Martínez was shown a red card.
• The Dynamo had players sent off in consecutive games for the first time in the club’s postseason history and the fourth time overall. The last time Dynamo players were ejected in successive games was April 20 and 28, 2013.
• The Dynamo had the better of possession, holding the ball for 50.8 percent of the match. It marked the second time this postseason in which the Dynamo had more of the ball than their opponent, and Houston fell to 0-1-1 in those games. Overall, the Dynamo were 0-6-2 when having the ball more than their opponents this year.
• The Dynamo outshot Seattle, 9-6. It was the first time this postseason and the 19th time overall this year. Houston fell to 9-6-4 in those games this year and 0-1-0 in the playoffs.
• The Dynamo fell behind 1-0 in the 22nd minute when Seattle MF Victor Rodriguez scored from 10 yards out. It was the third time this postseason and third consecutive match that the Dynamo conceded the opening goal.
• Houston trailed at halftime, 1-0. It marked the second consecutive match in which the Dynamo were behind at intermission and the 12th time overall this season.
• The Dynamo used their 37th different starting lineup in 39 MLS matches this year, including regular season and playoffs.

• MF Alex started his third consecutive playoff game and play in his fifth consecutive postseason contest.
• MF Eric Alexander received a yellow card in the 29th minute for a foul on Seattle FW Clint Dempsey near midfield.
• Alexander made his 14th career appearance and 10th start in the postseason.
• DF DaMarcus Beasley made his 21st appearance and 20th start in the postseason.
• Beasley started his fourth postseason game as a Dynamo player.
• MF Juan David Cabezas started his fifth consecutive playoff game.
• MF Ricardo Clark appeared in his 25th career playoff game when he came on for MF Alex in the 78th minute.
• MF Boniek García made his 13th career playoff appearance when he came on for MF Eric Alexander at halftime.
• García picked up a yellow card in the 60th minute for a foul on Seattle MF Nicolás Lodeiro.
• DF Leonardo made his sixth postseason start and second as a Dynamo player.
• DF Adolfo Machado made his fifth start in the postseason.
• FW Mauro Manotas made his fourth appearance in postseason and his third start.
• MF Tomás Martínez was sent off in the 66th minute after referee Hilario Grajeda utilized video review and determined that Martínez was guilty of violent conduct.
