  • Eliminated the Dynamo from the Audi 2017 MLS Cup Playoffs, bringing the 2017 season to a close.

TEAM NOTES:

  • Video review was utilized for the second time in a Dynamo postseason game when, in the 63rd minute, referee Hilario Grajeda consulted with video replay to evaluate an incident involving MF Tomás Martínez. After further review, it was determined that Martínez was guilty of violent conduct, and Martínez was shown a red card.
  • The Dynamo had players sent off in consecutive games for the first time in the club’s postseason history and the fourth time overall. The last time Dynamo players were ejected in successive games was April 20 and 28, 2013.
  • The Dynamo had the better of possession, holding the ball for 50.8 percent of the match. It marked the second time this postseason in which the Dynamo had more of the ball than their opponent, and Houston fell to 0-1-1 in those games. Overall, the Dynamo were 0-6-2 when having the ball more than their opponents this year.
  • The Dynamo outshot Seattle, 9-6. It was the first time this postseason and the 19th time overall this year. Houston fell to 9-6-4 in those games this year and 0-1-0 in the playoffs.
  • The Dynamo fell behind 1-0 in the 22nd minute when Seattle MF Victor Rodriguez scored from 10 yards out. It was the third time this postseason and third consecutive match that the Dynamo conceded the opening goal.
  • Houston trailed at halftime, 1-0. It marked the second consecutive match in which the Dynamo were behind at intermission and the 12th time overall this season.
  • The Dynamo used their 37th different starting lineup in 39 MLS matches this year, including regular season and playoffs.

  • Beasley started his fourth postseason game as a Dynamo player.
  • MF Juan David Cabezas started his fifth consecutive playoff game.
