The Houston Dash obtained the rights to forward Kyah Simon and selected midfielder Lotta Ökvist and goalkeeper Sammy Joe Prudhomme in the NWSL’s Disbursal Draft earlier today.
Simon is currently playing in the Australian W-League for Melbourne City FC after two seasons with Sydney FC, where she finished with 11 goals in 24 games. The forward brings two years of NWSL experience after playing for the Boston Breakers in 2012 and 2015, scoring 19 goals in 53 games. Current Dash assistant coach Lisa Cole was the head coach of the Breakers in 2012 during Simon’s first stint with the club.
Ökvist spent last year with Piteå IF in Sweden’s Damallsvenskan, appearing in 25 games. The midfielder was a member of Sweden’s youth team that won the U-19 UEFA title in 2016.
Prudhomme was selected with the No. 31 overall pick in the 2017 NWSL College Draft and played in five games last year where she set the franchise record for consecutive minutes without allowing a goal with 337 minutes.
