An early goal from Washington Spirit forward Rose Lavelle was enough to secure the Concacaf Women’s Championship for the U.S. Women’s National Team last evening in a 2-0 victory over Canada at Toyota Stadium.

Orlando Pride forward Alex Morgan added a late goal in the second half to secure the USWNT’s sixth regional title. The USWNT will conclude its activity in 2018 with two international friendlies in November.

Allysha Chapman and Nichelle Prince started for Canada who secured their spot in the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup on Sunday with a 7-0 victory over Panama. The tournament was the last international competition for the CanWNT this year.

Additionally, Jamaica became the first-ever Caribbean team to qualify for the FIFA Women’s World Cup after defeating Panama in penalty kicks during the tournament’s third-place match. Panama will have one more opportunity to qualify for next year’s World Cup when they face Argentina next month.
