THE WIN:

  • Was the second win in club history in which the Dynamo rallied from a two-goal deficit. The first came almost one month ago, on September 29 vs. San Jose.
  • Improved Houston’s record to 10-16-8 on the year and 2-10-5 on the road.
  • Improved Houston’s all-time record against the LA Galaxy to 11-10-7 overall and 4-5-4 in Carson.
  • Gave the Dynamo a 2-0-0 sweep of the season series against the Galaxy.
  • Improved Houston’s record on Decision Day to 6-3-4 overall and gave the Dynamo two consecutive wins in the last game of the regular season.
  • Was head coach Wilmer Cabrera’s 32nd career win in Major League Soccer.
  • Was Cabrera’s 23rd win on the Dynamo touchline.


RECORDS & MILESTONES:

  • The Dynamo set a club single-season record with 58 goals on the year, topping the previous record of 57 goals scored in 2017.
  • The Dynamo were credited with three assists in the game, giving them a club-record 53 assists on the season. That surpassed the previous mark of 48 set in 2009 and tied in 2012 and 2017.
  • FW Mauro Manotas finished the season with a club-record 19 goals in league play.
  • Manotas passed Brad Davis for third on the club’s all-time scoring list in all competitions. He now has 46 career goals across all official competitions.
  • With 19 goals and one assist, Manotas joined Alberth Elis (21-2018) and Brad Davis (20-2011, 2012) as the only players in Dynamo history with a combined 20 goals and assists in a season.
  • FW Alberth Elis set a club single-season record for total goals responsible for, with 21. With his assist on the game-winning goal by FW Mauro Manotas, Elis finished the season with 11 goals and 10 assists, topping Brad Davis’ totals of 20 combined goals and assists in 2011 and 2012.
  • Elis became the first player in Dynamo history to record double-digit goals and assists in the same season.
  • GK Joe Willis set a new single-season career high for minutes played, with 2,340 on the year. He entered the day having played 2,250 minutes this year and topped his previous high of 2,275 in the 26th minute.
  • MF Boniek García reached 2,000 minutes played for the third season in his MLS career and the first time since 2016. He came into the game with 1,973 minutes under his belt and hit the milestone in the 27th minute.


TEAM NOTES:

  • The Dynamo used their 33rd different lineup in 34 regular-season matches this season. In two years as the Dynamo head coach, manager Wilmer Cabrera has utilized 65 different lineup combinations in 68 matches.
  • The Dynamo rallied from a 0-2 deficit to win 3-2 for the second time this season and first time this year away from home. Houston also rallied from 0-2 to a 3-2 win against San Jose on September 29.
  • The Galaxy scored first when FW Ola Kamara headed home a cross in the 27th minute. It was the 18th game this season in which the Dynamo conceded the opening goal, and they are now 4-11-4 in those contests.
  • The Dynamo trailed the Galaxy 2-0 at halftime. It was the 11th time this season that they trailed at intermission, and they are now 3-6-2 in those games.

INDIVIDUAL PLAYER NOTES:

  • FW Romell Quioto scored his sixth goal of the season and his 13th with the Dynamo when he beat Galaxy GK David Bingham to the near post in the 58th minute.
  • Quioto made his 25th start and 32nd appearance of the year. For his career, it was his 39th start and 54th appearance in MLS regular-season play.
  • FW Mauro Manotas extended his team lead with his 18th goal of the season when he converted a penalty in the 73rd minute to equalize the game.
  • Manotas recorded his third brace of the season when he scored in the 79th minute off a feed from FW Alberth Elis. It was his sixth career multi-goal game.
  • With his first goal, Manotas passed MF Brad Davis (45) for third on the club’s all-time scoring list across all competitions.
  • Manotas scored in his third consecutive game, which tied longest such streak of his career. He previously scored in three straight games from June 9-July 3 of this season.
  • Manotas made his 64th career start and appeared in his 97th career game.
  • MF Tomás Martínez recorded two assists in the game, setting up FW Romell Quioto’s opener and picking up a secondary assist on the game-winning goal by FW Mauro Manotas. It was his second career multi-assist game and first since September 15 vs. Portland.
  • With two assists, Martínez finished the year with 13, which is the second-highest total in club history. Only Brad Davis had more in a season, with 16 in 2011.
  • Martínez made his 36th career start and appeared in his 41st MLS game.
  • FW Alberth Elis recorded his 10th assist of the season when he set up FW Mauro Manotas’ goal in the 79th minute. He became the first player in Dynamo history to record double-digit goals and assists in the same season.
  • With the assist, Elis set a club record for combined goals and assists on the season, with 21 (11 goals, 10 assists). Brad Davis had 20 combined goals and assists in 2011 and 2012.
  • Elis became the second Dynamo player to record 100 shots in a season, finishing the game with four and the season with 101, and the first since Giles Barnes had 113 shots in the 2014 season.
  • Elis made his 56th career appearance and his 45th start.
  • DF DaMarcus Beasley made his 26th start of the season, his 110th with the Dynamo and the 198th of his MLS career.
  • MF Darwin Cerén made his 20th start for the Dynamo and his 87th career start. It marked the first season since 2015 in which he started 20 or more games.
  • DF A.J. DeLaGarza made his fourth start of the season, his 34th with the Dynamo and the 230th of his MLS career.
  • DF Alejandro Fuenmayor made his 21st start of the season and his 22nd appearance.
  • MF Boniek García made his 21st start and 29th appearance of the year. It was his 137th start and 169th appearance of his career in MLS regular-season play.
  • DF Kevin Garcia made his 11th start of the season and his 15th appearance of the year.
