The Houston Dynamo's Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup championship is one of four nominees for the Houston Sports Awards' Moment of the Year, the Harris County-Houston Sports Authority announced today.

The Dynamo's third major championship is up against Simone Biles' World Championship in gymnastics, the Houston Texans' DeAndre Hopkin's spinning catch and run against the Dallas Cowboys, and Santa Fe High School's first football game following the tragic shooting at that school.

The award will be presented at the Houston Sports Awards on February 6, 2019 at the Hilton Americas. The red-carpet dinner and awards show will be streamed live on ABC13.com and broadcast on AT&T SportsNet Southwest immediately following the Houston Rockets-Sacramento Kings game that night.

This is the second annual event honoring the top people and moments in Houston sports – both past and present. Last year, Dynamo head coach Wilmer Cabrera was a nominee for Coach of the Year after leading the team to the Western Conference Finals in his first season at the helm.
