Houston Dash forward Rachel Daly was named to the England Women’s National Team roster by head coach Phil Neville for two friendlies, the Football Association announced today.
England, currently ranked fourth in the world by FIFA, will host the Canadian Women’s National Team on April 5 in Manchester at the Manchester City Academy Stadium. Four days later, England will host Spain at the Energy Check Ground in Swindon.
Daly has scored three goals in 19 appearances for the Lionesses. The Harrogate, England native recently won the 2019 She Believes Cup with England after two victories over Brazil, Japan and a draw with the United States.
The forward was named the club’s Most Valuable Player on Oct. 12, 2018 after she scored a career-high 10 goals in her third season with the Dash. In addition to three NWSL Team of the Month honors last season, Daly was named to the NWSL Second XI on Sept. 20, 2018.
Selected sixth overall by the Dash in the 2016 NWSL Draft, Daly ranks second in club history with 19 goals. She has appeared in 63 games with 59 starts in her first three seasons, seeing time at both forward and right back for the club.
